  • The first hour is gernerally a waiting game the first signs often coming after 40-50 mins in the form of a liner. During this time I recast about every 5 minutes to keep introducing small but regular amounts of feed. When the bait has been in the swim for about 3-4 minutes I will gently wind the reel to twitch the bait 10-20 cm alomg the lake bed this has the effect of pulling right into the feed that has emptied out of the feeder and often the gentle movement causes a fish to bite.
