The 29-12 common

  • I have been catching quite a few fish on double 20 mm purple monster squid bottom baits, a good number on a 20 mm bottom bait /12 mm pop-up combo, but on this day the fish were taking the smaller offering of a 15 mm Purple Monster Squid bottom bait (selected from the soaked offerings) with a 10 mm PMS pop-up. The rig is set-up KD style, a small style weight is attached to the hair and slid into the base of the boilie for neatness. The hooks I have been using are the Fang X or Fang Twister in size 7 or 5 depending on hook bait size. Dor the cast to avoid tangles I trap the hair to the hook with a PVA cable tie and a piece of PVA nugget is placed over the hook point. This is all fished on a helicopter rig with Diffusion camo tubing and a 3.5 oz Long Ranger lead.

  • My approach is based on the Purple Moster Squid boilies which I use as hook bait either as double bottom baits or bottom bait / pop-up snowman stye. To feed the swim I spomb a mix of purple, black and red monster squid, boilies that have been soaked in Monster squid Puple arouser for two days. Heres about 6 kg soaking in a tray on my office floor.

  • We started the session both hooking double figure fish within minutes of each other at 10 am in the morning probably about a hour after starting. Shawn Kittridge (l) tempted the mirror carp with a Krill barrel bait tipped with a fluro pink pop-up. Brian Gay offered a single 20 mm bottom bait Nashbait Purple Monster squid boilie for his mind to upper double common. • My combination is tapered 8 to 40 lb line, Shimano 10000 C14 Ultegras and Nash NRXD 13 ft, 3.5 TC rods.
